I recall someone doing a app that allowed the user to enter detail and then print a barcode, that was then stuck onto the paper form so it could be reconciled with its electronic record later...

I keep getting host unreachable when trying to get onto www.cfdev.com (the bods who make activedit).

Has anyone had any experience scanning docs as part of a web application? I need to attach scanned images to a record/workflow tool we have.

We use industrial scanners for mass document and OCR capture at a centralised location but the new requirement is at a receptionist desk level. They want to scan the signed form in order to register a new patient and start their examination/test series.

Trying to post match the info will be a nightmare. Much simpler to just scan the doc on a little flatbed and upload it and link it into the web based registration and bookings system.

Am sure cfdev do a scanning component. Ektron also do one. Anyone know of any others?

many thanks

Steve
