Hi Yannick,

We actually have already been doing this for quite a while in 2.0, although in a slightly different way, via Uploadify. It's not perfect (obviously), but it basically allows what you describe as well and uses jQuery too. Should check how that (and jQuery per extension) has evolved in the meantime.

Best regards,

Hans

Hi all,

We have just released Chamilo 1.8.8 alpha after a few nights with very
little sleep.
You can download it here:
http://code.google.com/p/chamilo/downloads/detail?name=chamilo-1.8.8-alpha.tar.gz

As its name says, it's an alpha version, meant for easier testing only
and viewing pleasure only. Don't use in production! However, if you want
to test it for upgrade purposes, please use it on a copy of a current
installation and let us know what you think here:

We expect a very short alpha stage (around 4 days) before we publish the
beta. The beta itself should remain for one week before the stable is
released, which would bring us to around the 20th of February (I hope).

I'd like to thank (a bit early, but still worth it) Ivan and Juan Carlos
for their invaluable, continuous and regular voluntary contributions,
and Julio for his dedication and patience.

As a side note, it is very likely that we will implement jQuery File
Upload in Chamilo 1.8.8 as it represents minor integration efforts
and... it provides multiple files upload *and* DRAG& DROP file upload
(webdav style without webdav). This is a tremendous usability
improvement for a lot of people, so I think 2.0 team might have a look
at it (it's as simple as including the lib and giving the right ID to
your<input type="file"> element in your form, and having the right
secure PHP script behind, of course).

Regards,

Yannick W.
