Hi Vicky,

  "apt-get update" works very well in my target envrionment.
  From you log, the URL ports.ubuntu.com can't be resovled by your DNS
server. So, I guess there must be something wrong with your networking
configuration. I highly suggest you to try "wget www.google.com" to make
sure your networking works correctly.
