Just a followup on a couple of items that were brought to my attention:

Depending on the instruction set support in the version of gcc that you are
using, you can select
        -mssse3 instead of -msse3

Also, please disregard the -static setting. That was an inadvertent copy.

 Recommended settings are:

        -O3 -m[sse3 or ssse3] -march=Nocona -mfpmath=sse

Subject: RE: [Moblin Dev] Recommended gcc flags for Intel Atom processors

There currently aren't any specific Atom optimizations in gcc, but the
following settings have been recommended for use on Atom by the UMG Performance
Team (and verified in some of our performance work):

        -O3 -msse3 -march=nocona -mfpmath=sse -static

As a reminder to the list, the Intel compiler for Atom has several
optimizations specifically for this new microarchitecture and is free to use
for code that will be targeted on Atom platforms. The Intel compiler on Linux
has consistently shown significant performance increases on Atom vs. GCC.

This would probably be a good thing to stick on a website somewhere too
(if it's not already there).
