Hello Farrukh,

Can you elaborate on what machine you're working with?

And also, which version of the Image Creator you're using (just want to make
sure it's the latest-and-greatest)

It will help in assessing the problem (and hopefully the solution!)...

Thanks,

rs

Hi Guys,

I have created an image using "core" and "X" and it is booting fine (with
some errors), But it does not start any X window system. (I also tried using
XFCE Desktop), on the shell I have configured X11 using Xorg -configure and
when I tried startx, the screen blinks for a while and then it came back to
terminal with Xserver errors. Some errors are

Open ACPI Failed /var/run/acpi.socket (No such file or directory)
No APM Support in BIOS or Kernel
Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri.so
Failed to load module "dri" (loader failed 7)
.
.
.
When I tried with XFCE Desktop package. It started (by itself) desktop
manager, but there was nothing except a wallpaper. No mouse pointer was
moving, no icone no bar nothing. No keyboard key appeared to be in working
condition.

Any idea what I am missing.

Secondly I am trying this project as a personal interest and I am still not
able to find enough time to do my research. I want my custom graphical
application to be loaded after system boot and no desktop (XFCE or GNOME
etc) Say I write a "Hello World" application using X11 libraries. How it
will be done in moblin, I mean any pointer to start looking for. Would I
still need desktop manager or Xserver will be enough. Any pointers to this.
Thanks.
