Hey Guys,
I know your primary focus is on netbooks running with Intel Atom CPU's.
However, I work with an intel embedded platform for the healthcare
sector. Typical spec is a Celeron CPU (passively cooled) with an Intel
855 or 865 level of graphics card. These devices are housed in an
all-in-one case behind a 15.4" (1280x800) or 17" (1280x1024 or 1440x900)
panel which has a touch screen device. I'm hoping that future versions
of the hardware platform will incorporate Atom processors. However, for
the moment, we've quite a large install base running off these Celerons.
They're SSE2 capable, not SSE3.
They're typically mounted on an articulated arm beside a hospital bed
and provide access to patient entertainment (iptv, Vod, Aod, internet
etc.) as well as providing clinicians to electronic patient records.
We've our own linux platform based off of Fedora (FC5 with updates and
customizations). I always have a an R&D version running with the latest
Fedora releases but I was interested in looking into trying out a moblin
based system.
Are there any documents on what I'd need to do to create my own hardware
profile ?
you pretty much have to rebuild all the binaries with different compiler
flags... not all that easy.
