the subnet Neutron concept is missing.I not sure if

Yes, that is correct, however users should not be
configuring ACLs directly and ACLs are also used for other
purposes (e.g. network policy rules). Openstack SG concept
translates to SG on opencontrail.

a VM in nova is also a virtual-machine in contrail, but
all
contrail
virtual-machines are not nova VMs ;-)
