Yes, dpdk-vrouter needs its own huge pages. The DPDK library auto-detects the
huge pages from the hugetlbfs mount point, so it needs to be setup.

Subject: [Users] Hugepages and dpdk-vrouter

Hey All,
For DPDK nodes, currently i have configured my computes to use 40G of 1G pages
and able to spin up 3 vms each with 10G,and they are all using huge pages.I
have 10G of un- allocated huge pages.
my question:
Does "dpdk-vrouter" need hugepages for itself to work?

If it needs hugepages then do i have to specify the 1G
mount point somewhere in the configuration of dpdk-vrouter or can it auto
detect 1G pages and use it.

Motive behind the question is some where i read hugepages are needed for dpdk
for packet buffering but in my current set up i haven't specified hugepages any
where in the config for dpdk-vrouter right now only vms are using huge pages.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,
Kevin
