In this way we could harden it a bit more than the current one. e.g. Default to DDG/StartPage/IXQuick, force image proxy instead of linking to Bing/Google Images (which track IP), and use CACert for HTTPS over nginx.
I may be able to provide a host for one if this is deemed a good idea, I was actually experimenting with Searx a few weeks back already and it's not too difficult to deploy.
