i was going over the existing issues and feature requests today in the redmine "installation media" tracker and came across this one that i would like to bring back into attention as it was left waiting for a consensus decision two years ago with no resolution
https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/964 it seems like a good idea of course to take some load off the mirrors but i have not used it so i dont know if it is robust enough to be used as the default nor would that make mirrors unusable for anyone who installs a system configured this way
