I personally prefer this proposed new logo over the old, and I like the
version with the curved finish.

I also don't think magenta is a good color to use. Black and white
aren't my top choices, either; I like orange.

#2 proposals are perfect.
I suppose the four versions would be used depending the background page
color, including black printings (also, this is cheaper, eg. by sewing
techniques on shirts).

The curved finishes (#2) are perfect: they simbolize Parabola in the
pieces also, not only in the bigger figure.

Oh, the black and white color are for other uses where you can't use
full color printing/showing. :)

+1
In my opinion, either the orange color does not is a good choice:
- it could too much remember Ubuntu in people's mind
- the orange colors are hard to accurately print without changes in color
gradation

I like simplicity and being a minimalist, *I* have no problem with the
original (current logo). However, it would do a lot of good to change
the logo to something that's more attractive to users and future
users. So... proposal #2 :)
Several questions, I have:
Also, what's the process for changing a logo generally? Does somebody
propose it and the proposal is put out for votes? SVG available?
Are those curves in the broken parabola (proposal #2) parabolae themselves?

I have the oportunity to make an interview to Noam Chomsky. What
questions would you ask him? (I will name you if you want.)
