I've looked at Zimbra and Joyent, and unfortunately they don't really

Hi Mark!
Are there any alternatives to Roundcube? ;)
I did some research a while ago and there seems to be no open source Web 2.0 Webmail system out there that is actually useable. Zimbra is pretty cool but closed, GMX, Yahoo and others don't publish their code (of course).... so Roundcube is pretty alone.
Which is why there is so much focus on it.

That brings up another question to the core developers - did you ever try to get sponsoring from companies? I know that one hosting company in Germany is using Roundcube as their mail system, maybe they sponsor one (or a half) developer?

Just my thoughts,

Mike
