neither in preview pane, nor when having double clicked a message. (here
it used to show next message, now it seems to go back to message list
view, with none selected.)

this makes deleting a bunch of messages very cumbersome, but i feel like
i'm going crazy because i don't think it was acting this way yesterday
-- certainly the rc was behaving better. anybody else notice this?
