This implies all other versions of Tizen are not Open. Why?

What did you eliminate to make it Open?

Joel

Subject: [Dev] A usable Tizen-common image is now available for x86_64 targets

Hello,

For an internal project at Eurogiciel Brittany premises, we needed an image of
Tizen-common, with only open source repos.

This building work is achieved, and we now can use the image on a Lenovo
Thinkpad X230 Tablet. We are happy to share it with anyone who would be
interested.

We called it OpenTizen.

Main features:
   * Weston-Wayland (basic, no home shell),
   * WRT (also basic, only base Tizen plugins),
   * Connman (Wifi, Ethernet),
   * Gstreamer (1.0),
   * Touchscreen (Wacom driver),
   * Tested only on our Ivybridge based Lenovo X230 Tablet.

If you are interested, you can download the image through this URL:
http://opensource.eurogiciel.fr/

Extra information (manifest files, list of packages, how to install with an USB
storage key, how to rebuild) are also available.

Note, this image is based on latest manifest files published on
http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/tizen/common/latest/builddata/manifest/
, on October 14th !

We may not need to rebuild that image and this work might be a "one shot" build.

Let us know if you are interested by this kind of image: we might consider to
automate such image creation if the need justifies it.

For any request, please contact [email protected]

Your feedback will be appreciated.

Best regards,
Xavier
