Hello;

there is a proposition for reserved name:UID for system services.
The proposition had an agreement on the principle but was not cristalised.

I know that José was talking about creating a Wiki page with that info recently.
We also need to find a location to include that information to be it configured at build time as recreating a legacy as we had with UID 5000, is not 'desirable'.

We need to do it for platform configuration anyhow.

I would be curious to understand how you plan to create a match of UID in a reliable way in two name space and how that will work in a multi user mode.

Hi all,

I was wondering if there exist any rules for User ID allocation on Tizen 3.0 platform.

I’m in team working on Domain Separation (Linux Containers) and we need to reserve an UID for our daemon which will be communicating with containers via dbus socket (it  requires that UID in host and container match, so we can’t trust default values).

Best regards,

Michal Witanowski
