It depends on what you need this information for. There should be some
kind of API to get an IP from a *connected* socket. It may not be
possible to determine IP address of an not-yet-connected socket because
the OS decides which one to assign when you connect.

You may also want to try a service like http://www.whatismyip.com/ which
gives you the IP as seen by a party you are talking to, which is
important if you are behind a NAT.
