The only idea that I had is for the applications that generate the event to be able to query/wait a status of the library telling that the event is fully distributed to what count of clients. Thus the problematic is synchronous/asynchronous delivery of events. I'm voting for a default asynchronous publishing but for also adding an optional mechanism to synchronise after full delivery of the event.
