Hi,
You don't need anything to do for Connection Explorer if your device is sdb-connected which can be checked by "sdb devices" in console.
BTW, I recommend not to use 2.3 SDK. Instead, you'd better use 2.4 Rev3 SDK with multi-platform support which might be open in Jan. Once you install 2.4 (Rev3) SDK, then you can easily update your SDK up-to-date using Update Manager.
