Hi Leon, Hi All,

From Tizen Common release engineers point of view - there is no problem in doing that. Please just push a submit request with tizen_common tag and we'll handle it.

Earlier today JIRA was fixed so I reported the issue: https://bugs.tizen.org/jira/browse/TC-2549

We do not have however resources to maintain pulseaudio repository, so we can only verify and take care of OBS submit request.

OK, thank you for the feedback. My time for this task is limited so I will see what I can do.

In my opinion updating pulseaudio is not a single time effort. There should be a maintainer who takes care of it over the time. Several months ago I reported a similar issue with the outdated version of ofono: https://bugs.tizen.org/jira/browse/TC-2538

I have the uneasy feeling this is a general work flow issue that affects the majority of open source upstream projects used in Tizen 3. Obviously keeping these projects up to date and building them through OBS/GBS infrastructure requires resource which are not available at the moment.

Btw this case is a good example of the benefits of Yocto/OE for building Tizen. The Yocto project has a 6-month release cycle and recipes for all these 3rd party popular open source projects are available in openembedded-core or other Openembedded meta layers.

Hi Jonghyuk Choi, Jaska Uimonen,

I am bothering you because according to the information I found out in Gerrit you are maintaining pulseaudio in Tizen.

I noticed that Pulseaudio in Tizen:Common and other Tizen 3 profiles is stuck to version 5.0. It is recommended to update it to 6.0 or newer because there are a lot of changes related to BlueZ 5, support of Bluetooth profiles and other improvements. Details are available at pulseaudio 6.0 release notes:
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/Notes/6.0/

Yesterday the topic was discussed at the IRC channel and I was told that pulseaudio has very low priority as of now in Tizen Common. Despite this, in my opnion it is important to keep it up to date. Are there any plans for updating Pulseaudio in near future?

Btw I tried to report this task at JIRA but unfortunately, as I said at the other mailing list thread, I was unable due to "Error creating issue: Indexing completed with 3 errors".

Best regards,
Leon
