Denis - yes, the topN doc ids are read from the stored fields. It happens in 
the BinaryResponseWriter.

Robert - you suggest returning the uniqueKey in the SolrQueryResponse? what 
stage do think of doing it? what about letting the frontend work with docId, 
while being aware of the shard provenance? why after working on solr-3855 
didn't you implement the uniquekey read from docValues?
