Somehow, the 2nd channel.close releases the first lock obtained in the same 
process.

I.e., if you start that test program you'll see it print SUCCESS then FAILED, 
and while it's still running go run it again in another window, and that 2nd 
process also prints SUCCESS then FAILED.
