As someone who teaches people how to use Solr, I think the contents of this
ticket is very useful and necessary.
As someone who likes automation, I find it a little scary. Changing the
directory structure as substantially as is proposed in a minor release to me
kinda gives the wrong message.
My preference would be to accept that version numbers are cheap, this is
incompatible, so release it soon in 5.0. Folks will then expect some back
incompatibility, so all is good.
