Alexandre Rafalovitch commented on SOLR-7261: --------------------------------------------- How do you know it is NOT helpful? Do we know that nobody ever has a custom SchemaFactory, even for debug purposes? Feels a bit of a jump and somebody that should have been discussed (to death?) on a mailing list first. Also, having a simple switch implies flipping it makes things work the other way. But there is a bunch of different pieces that make managed schema actually manageable. I am thinking of UpdateRequestProcessor chain, but I suspect there are other differences. > change the configuration to enable managed schema > ------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SOLR-7261 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-7261 > Project: Solr > Issue Type: Task > Reporter: Noble Paul > > Making the SchemaFactory pluggable is not really helpful.
