Could somebody remind me, which Java release will be recommended and which releases will be supported for the upcoming Lucene/Solr 6.0 release? I mean, will it remain the same or change from the 5.5 system requirements page: http://lucene.apache.org/core/5_5_0/SYSTEM_REQUIREMENTS.html
"Apache Lucene runs of Java 7 or greater, Java 8 is verified to be compatible and may bring some performance improvements." I wasn't sure where Java 9 is these days. Some statement on it seems warranted, otherwise "7 or greater" implies that 9 is fine. -- Jack Krupansky
