My proposal is as follows: The module names would include:
- spatial-ellipsoid
- spatial-plane
- (+ one other TBD, since I don't know what really distinguishes the "point"
implementation from the other 2D implementation)
The implementation strategies could be called "ellipsoidal" or "planar"
