Hoss Man commented on SOLR-10123:
---------------------------------

Dennis: at first glance, commit d5963bebc43bdb712f2f1e9a29f944370f079b5f has
effectively negated a lot of the work done in SOLR-10947 by adding a brand new
configset/schema that only use Trie numeric fields instead of randomizing in
Point numeric fields...

https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=lucene-solr.git;a=commit;h=d5963bebc43bdb712f2f1e9a29f944370f079b5f

It's also not clear if this new code still suffers from SOLR-10949 ... i see
code paths that are specific to PointFields, but w/o any Point field in the new
test schema how can we know?
