Hoss Man updated SOLR-11305:
----------------------------
    Attachment: SOLR-11305_hoss_suggestions.patch

bq. Maybe they should all just have the structure...

The attached patch includes my suggested change, as well as fixes/improvements
for...

* docvalues.adoc
* function-queries.adoc
* the-standard-query-parser.adoc
* the-extended-dismax-query-parser.adoc
** I just removed the entire(ly redundent and seemingly missplaced) section on
dates from this page, and improved/tweaked the way this page refers back to
the-standard-query-parser.adoc

I couldn't spot anything obviously wrong/lacking in these files, so I'm not
sure what you were concerned needed updated about them ...

* spatial-search.adoc
* working-with-dates.adoc

(feel free to commit if you think these look good)

> The Ref Guide doesn't have much about Point fields, so needs to be updated
> since they are now default numeric types.
> A few things to do:
> # Note that all Trie*Fields are deprecated.
> # Update the field type descriptions (in
> {{field-types-included-with-solr.adoc}} so they don't refer to TrieFields to
> describe how they function (like, "This works just like a Trie* field..."),
> since that will be less & less relevant to users as time goes on.
> # Review all the mentions of Trie fields and replace them with new
> configurations or descriptions that use PointFields instead.
