In general i wonder if there isn't a largely problem here: shouldn't the
IndexReader and SolrIndexWriter usually be using the exact same _instance_ of a
Directory object -- not just two instances generated by the same
DirectoryFactory?)
(I'm not sure given the various work being done with reopen and what not)
