Elizabeth Haubert commented on SOLR-12243:
------------------------------------------

Why do we need to wait for the lucene patch, if that has been backed out of
this jira?

I thought the ticket was split, as there are two distinct issues. One that
the clauses are missing entirely, which would be handled here, and a
second one that when the span clauses are generated with the attached
patch, the semantics between phrase clauses with and without multi term
synonyns are different without the lucene change.

Depending on how reordering in span queries is implemented in lucene, there
may need to be additional logic to edismax to take advantage, but
presumably that would need another issue?
