Ah, just noticed the set of constants in JsonTextWriter... those plus an
USER_SPECIFIED (the default) could be used for the enum, and the value in the
named list overrides the value in json.nl creating the same effect and giving
us options of using any of those formats where we want (without creating
subclasses)
