It's _really_ unclear what you're asking for here.
All you've given us is that there are, apparently, two types of "wrongness"
that are reported differently. What, specifically, is wrong when you don't get
an error code back? How specifically are you sending the docs to Solr in the
two cases? Are you uploading XML from the admin UI in both cases? Extracting
Request Handler in one case and the admin UI in another?
We need exact steps and expected results to be able to respond intelligently.
