Gus Heck commented on SOLR-13262: --------------------------------- Also you seem to be coining a "simple alias" concept which would appear to be defined as an alias with only one target collection? Not sure how I feel about that. Would need to clarify/document distinction between "simple alias" and "regular alias", the later of which is a term that came out of the TRA work I did with [~dsmiley], and I just recently added a fair bit of documentation to the ref guide relying on that moniker, but explicitly discussing it as one or more target collections. I'm fond of aliases, and it's good to see them finding use, just wonder if we should be splitting behavior on single target collection vs multiple target collection use cases. Starting to feel like a complex landscape for what works with what. > Implement collection RENAME command > ----------------------------------- > > Key: SOLR-13262 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-13262 > Project: Solr > Issue Type: Improvement > Security Level: Public(Default Security Level.
