I you installed python3 through homebrew it can be that SSL root certificates are not updated. There seems to be a few workarounds here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44649449/brew-installation-of-python-3-6-1-ssl-certificate-verify-failed-certificate Or simply download and install python3 from the python website...
