Hi,

the Solr project has split off Lucene and the mailing list is now available at d...@solr.apache.org. Please also note that Since Solr 9.0 the repository at Gthub also moved.

FYI, Lucene moved to Github-only development (without JIRA)), but Solr still uses JIRA: You can just create a PR on Solr's repository and refer to the JIRA issue number.

Hello,
I submitted the below JIRA after discussing the issue on the user list.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-16360

I have tried the fix locally and it's working as per expectations. I would like to contribute it as well. Since this will be my first time contributing to the open source community, I would like to know if the JIRA needs to be assigned to me or if I can just go ahead and submit a PR against it?

Thanks,
Rahul
