If nobody objects, I'll do what I last mentioned. Mark this as fixed in 4.0 and
raise another JIRA for the cleanup in 3.x. I'd like to do this today if
possible (just so I won't forget!).
I see the comments are already taken out of the schema.xml file, so I think
doing this would accurately reflect the current state of the code.
