Hmm, interesting. When I wrote those instructions in the process of performing them for the last release, the Lucene invocation only staged the Lucene artifacts, likewise for the Solr invocation and artifacts.
Where did the artifacts come from? Did you use the download script referred to in the instructions? When you invoked 'ant stage-maven-artifacts', what value did you give the maven.dist.dir sysprop? Was it a parent directory of both the Lucene and the Solr artifacts?
