I think it's ok if we introduced IFU for DOCS_ONLY at first, throwing
exceptions otherwise. E.g., UpdateField override setOmitNorms and such and
throws UOE... at first.
Everything else will still work as it is today...
Codecs didn't handle all segment files first... stored fields and such were
added later. I do agree though that we should keep in mind the full range of
scenarios.
