No, I think that makes things very difficult. Every place where you used to
have "id" you now need to pass "id" and this other configurable field (or maybe
even more than one). That puts much more of a burden on clients trying to talk
to solr since "id" is no longer good enough to efficiently identify where a
document lives in the cluster.
