FYI i did this (a little late). There is still time to fix bugs. just test heavily, be conservative, allow to bake, etc. if its not critical and risky for release, just dont merge to the release branch (http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/lucene/dev/branches/lucene_solr_4_0/)
