David Smiley commented on LUCENE-4644: -------------------------------------- I confirm your interpretation of "WITHIN" semantics being the "all within" that I defined above, and so that should be the default. My "some within" definition is not synonymous with "Intersects", just to be clear. It is a subset of "Intersects" where the boundary of the indexed shape does not cross the query shape. As such, some of the indexed shape must be within the query shape but it cannot cross over directly outside of the query shape. It can match more documents than the standard WITHIN will match, for those cases where the indexed shape is comprised of multiple disjoint pieces. > Implement spatial WITHIN query for RecursivePrefixTree > ------------------------------------------------------ > > Key: LUCENE-4644 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-4644 > Project: Lucene - Core > Issue Type: New Feature > Components: modules/spatial > Reporter: David Smiley > Assignee: David Smiley > -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
