Ken and Shahar, thank you both for your interest in getting this patch usable
with the current and upcoming releases.
At this point in time, since refinement is not present in distributed pivoting,
I would be hesitant to integrate this with release versions of solr. Indeed,
where I work we have put features related to this functionality on hold until
refinement can be implemented.
I started working on implementing refinement for distributed pivots a couple of
weeks ago and have handed it off to a teammate who will be seeing it through to
completion.
Currently we expect this will take another two to four weeks.
At that time we will update what is here and look in to backporting / getting
this committed.
