Here is a patch from my first quick review of this - it fixes a few mostly
minor issues. This is great work overall Erick!
This fixes an issue with the core admin path on 5x, an issue with setting the
right instance dir when using alternate core discovery locations, and some
other minor nits.
I plan to commit this very shortly so that Erick can merge his work in and then
take a deeper dive through the evening.
