I used to merge to master as I went - since Codecs is outside of the rest
of your guy's flow. I decided it was right to jump on the PR bandwagon.
Up to you, I can keep this outstanding as I continue to port, or we can
review / merge it in, and I can continue to port. I don't mind, as long as
nobody else is working on Codecs it probably doesn't matter too much
