There is an open JIRA for 1.9.1 release to support 9.5 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MADLIB-944 so I am glad that you worked on it. We will take a look and respond in the pull request. I see that 9.6 is still in beta, not sure when GA release is planned.
