Yeah... the QR is substantially improved by the Cholesky hack that I posted the 
other day.  The Y'Y computation is moderately expensive, but the subsequent 
Cholesky decomposition is nearly instant.  Then the subsequent multiplications 
to get the effect of Q should be nearly I/O bound.
