Paritosh Ranjan commented on MAHOUT-825:
----------------------------------------
I agree that the features for all clustering algorithms should be consistent.
However, I also advocate early feedback, and I think everyone else does. If we
can commit this patch now, the users can use it and can give feedback. And its
impelmentation in other algorithms can go sideways. Even the user feedback can
effect the priority of implementing it in other clustering algorithms ( on how
important they feel this feature is ).
I believe that the user feedback is the most important stuff in any software
development. And early feedback is something that helps in making better
products.
So, refraining from commit an available patch does not make much sense in my
view.

> While finding closest canopy, there is no check to ensure that it returns
> canopies which are within distance t1 from the point. This results in
> incorrect result i.e. Points outside t1 are grouped in canopies.
