Thank you for having me on board the Mahout project as a committer. I appreciate this gesture and am looking forward to it.
My background: presently working at VeriSign Headquarters in Reston ,Virginia. I am working on a team that mainly does crawl, analysis and profiling of Internet domains (com, net, name, jobs, tv, cc, org) and analyzing DNS traffic patterns for web sites. We have been traditionally using Weka and Grapeshot SVMs for classifications, we now have Mahout in this mix since the last 2 years and are also using Mahout clasifiers and clustering algorithms for other Research projects. I have been following Mahout very closely for over 2 years now and contributing as and when time permits. I was part of Grant's Mahout Training class at ApacheCon 2011 in Vancouver, Canada. Thanks Grant, I did find the class useful. I had also attended Shannon Quinn's talk titled - 'Dr.Mahout: analyzing clinical data using Scalable and Distributed computing' and Isabel's talk during ApacheCon 2011. Thanks again, -Suneel ________________________________ From: Grant Ingersoll <gsing...@apache.org> To: dev@mahout.apache.org Sent: Thursday, April 4, 2013 6:30 AM Subject: Welcome Suneel Marthi and Dan Filimon In recognition of the contributions of Suneel Marthi and Dan Filimon to the Mahout project, the PMC is pleased to announce both have accepted our invitations to join the Mahout project as committers.
