Stevo Slavic commented on MAHOUT-1275:
--------------------------------------

[~gsingers] I've reverted the commit.
What I would usually do to deal with this is to create a 0.8 branch, make any
0.8 fixes and RC releases from there, that branch will produce RCs and at the
end final 0.8 tag. Any fixes on 0.8 branch ought to be merged by same person
that commits them to 0.8 branch on trunk also. Development on trunk of next
version can continue without any delay.

> There really is no reason why we need so many release artifacts for the
> distribution. We run on *NIX machines. Zip and Gzip are standard tools,
> let's save a few bits, along with Release Manager upload times, and drop the
> BZ2 format.
