No opinion here, so I'm pretty much for use whatever colour scheme you prefer.
One observation wrt logo: I've seen people take swag, then inform themselves about the project and then like and use a project in cases where the logo was either cute (flink, original found etc.) or in some way funny/ having a twist in how to understand it (original logstash).
