Created CONNECTORS-1033 for the null lock problem.
Increasing tick count to 5000 ms seems to have made my crawl, at least, run
well. So I've committed that value:
r1625270 (trunk)
However, I'm sure that there's a recovery pathway underneath this that is a
problem and needs to be reworked, so I'm leaving the ticket open until that
happens.
